Little Bit of Green on the Balcony

Let me preface. I am NOT a gardener. I have a black thumb. I do not know what I was thinking.

Planting Peppers

Let’s call it part hope, part need for a new plant container system. We’ve had some really high winds lately, and since we’re near the top of our building with nothing blocking the wind between us and the sea, things get blown over out there. Also, I love these little pepper plants and just wanted them. I can pretend they’re practical and that I’m going to cook with them, but have you ever tasted my cooking? Let’s just say I’m an uninspired cook. And lazy. I like my flavor pre-packaged.

But look how cute they are! And I have cebolinhos too! Now, not only will my cooking be bad, you’ll have bad breath after-wards too! Don’t you want to come over for dinner now?

Balcony Garden

At the very least, these heavy planters will keep our small collection of little plants from becoming projectile missiles every time the wind blows. They do look nice out there on our balcony by the sea.

Green Peppers

They’re just so dang cute!

Red Pepper

I have been known to have the black thumb of death when I touch plants. Wish them luck.

And thank you, my heart, for lugging hundreds of pounds of dirt and two cement planters up here. Te amo.

Are those Jalapeños??? I’m going to have my mil bring some seeds when she comes and visits in December. Thanks for your comment–and welcome to Brazil! I’ll have to “catch up” on your blog now :-)

    • I think they’re too small for Jalapenos and they didn’t have a label. I have no idea! I guess we’ll find out how hot they are when we try to eat the first one. Wish us luck, lol.

Thanks for the welcome! If you’re ever down visiting this way, let me know. I’d love to meet you.

They really look great on your balcony! So homey! From someone who has killed every plant she has ever owned, I wish you good luck and successful photosynthesis.

I have been consulting with my Mexican friends and they say they look like serano (spelling???) peppers and that they are great in salsa’s. They add some spice without making is feel like you are sucking on a soldering iron.

I too have a black thumb! I´m sad that my apartment doesn´t have a balcony but am glad to not have the pressure of planting! l0l
